APXS the S attached to APX stands for small This product has integrated dull lens ventilation, its double lens so. On Test: Dragon APXs Peruvian Goggles have a dual function on the slopes: they help you see and they help you look good. This season's must-have for skiers and snowboarders is the much-hyped Dragon Advanced Projects X (APX) series of rimless goggles, which give you great peripheral vision and puts you in the enviable position of looking a bit. The APXS gives one of the best fields of vision on the market today. Designed and tested in the backcountry of Colorado at Dragon's Research and Development cabin, the Advanced Projects Xsmall (APXS) goggle has proven to withstand the harshest, most technically demanding conditions.
It's really hard to go wrong with any Dragon goggles. From the discontinued Mace goggles (my favorite goggles for many years) to the Rogues (the TJ Schiller version super sick!) to the full-size APX goggles, they're all killer. Well, this season I received a brand new pair of Dragon Gigi Ruf APXs goggles and these quickly moved up into my top spot for Dragon goggles.
I used the Dragon APX goggles a lot last season and was really happy with them, but always felt like they were slightly bigger than I needed. The fit with a helmet on was always pretty snug. The good news this season is that Dragon released the medium-sized APXs goggles and they're absolutely perfect for me. I still get all of the great peripheral vision, luxurious feeling face foam, zero fogging and the relatively easy lens changing capabilities of the APX goggles, but in a slightly smaller package. These goggles are so rad. The lenses have no distortion, everything looks crisp and clear and these goggles fit helmets even better than the full-size APX version. The Gigi APXs goggles are easily some of my new favorite goggles this season and the Charlie Brown inspired strap is pretty entertaining as well.
The Dragon Gigi Ruf APXs goggles are perfect for both men and women with medium and smaller faces who want ultra-premium goggles and unsurpassed optics. They're definitely worth the splurge and are the best Dragon goggles I've ever owned. That's saying a lot.
Full Size Beretta Apx Review
Goggles with interchangeable lenses are a boon, but it's not always as easy as it might be to actually change the lens - unless you're using Dragon's brilliant Swiftlock Lens Change System
The easy on-and-off mechanism uses a pair of small, locking levers integrated into the goggle frame - you simply flip the levers up to release the lens, pop in the new one and with one quick motion, lock it down.
It's so easy you can more or less do it with gloved hands, and it makes you wonder why some other lens change systems are so fiddly in comparison.
Dragon Apxs Review Book
The cool-looking, frameless NFX2 comes with a spare lens, and each lens has an optically correct cylindrical design, which provides optimum peripheral vision - that said the goggles are not especially large and you may find peripheral vision is not as good as it could be if you have a wide face, so check before you buy.
Fogging isn't a problem thanks to the combination of a super anti-fog finish on the lens and Dragon's 'Armoured Venting' system which prevents snow that may get into the vents from working its way onto the inner lens.
